@GenocideAfrica @vanhanenist If you're talking about the euromaidan then it's important to remember yanukovych made a campaign promise to further go along with EU integration, that's part of the reason why it happened. Along with him being a corrupt crony even by Ukraine's standards.

@GenocideAfrica @vanhanenist I mean in 2008 ideas were floated around about Ukraine joining NATO but those kinda went nowhere. 2000-2014 From a Russian perspective the best course of action was to try to get ukraine to become like Kazakhstan or Belarus peacefully.
