@nitrrogen__ Thats a pretty big disparity especially considering how ruined France Britain Germany etc were by the war

You could make the argument that they would have been poorer without the USSR (kinda easy) but they would have been way better off in the hands of the West

@TheEternalKraut 1974 according to the charts the baltics were like 14-15,000 and western Europe was 19-20,000. Comparatively with how poor they were pre WW2 and with the rest of the USSR - economically it was a net+. The economic effects of extra welfare due to war veterans is negligible.

@TheEternalKraut They probably would be better off in the hands of the west because America had more economic rescources but that's not what I'm saying. I'm stating that they probably be poorer without the USSR.
