@JalterGroyper2 Ukranianization was a catalyst and not simply a "temporary measure". Moreover, the very fact that the Soviet government felt the need to implement Ukrainization at all suggests that the Ukraine did not form a true national identity based in any historical roots.

@nitrrogen__ You also neglect to mention that it was wholly a temporary measure of placating the locals, after the Soviet invasion and occupation. The impact that it left on Ukrainian national identity and even more so Ukrainian nationalism, is negligible.

@JalterGroyper2 The Ukraine has never formed a state prior to the German occupation during Brest-Litovsk, the mere existence of a Ukranian SSR already gives legitimacy to the Ukraine as a nation, which it did not have prior.
